What is the Tren de Palau?

The Tren de Palau is an association of railway enthusiasts, based on the free-time occupation of its members.

These people, on a voluntary basis, with the support of the Town Council and the participation of the users of the L'Hostal del Fum Park, have built a small narrow-gauge railway that meets one of the business objectives of the association.

The laying of the tracks, the layout of the bends, the levelling and the ballasting, together with the construction of the bridges, locomotives and carriages of the association is all done by members who, on a voluntary basis, spend their free time on the Association's activities. The expenses for buying the material, tools, fuel and a part of the projects are financed with the members' fees and the voluntary contribution of travellers who participate in the activity.

The results are visible: a railway that belongs to everyone. A common asset made through the collective effort of enthusiasts and the participation of visitors. A train that is loved by everyone, like the beloved narrow-gauge railways of the past, and which has the longest route in continental Europe, with these characteristics and gauge.
